Hi, my name is Michael Godsen. I am a recent transplant to the Northwest Indiana area and a lifelong enthusiast of all kinds of sports and outdoor activities. I have had my ups and down when it has come to my fitness including more than my share of injuries and a very slow recovery from back surgery and some resulting nerve damage.
I initially came to Inspiration Fitness 4 months ago looking for some very specific help and coaching on kettlebell training. After a very long recovery from back surgery, I resigned myself to the fact that I would probably have to give up a lot of those activities that I really loved and needed to find something that I could do. But I knew I needed help.
My initial meeting with Angela was an eye opener as she explained the programs that IFC offers. The credentials of the staff and network of partners were just the things I needed to get me moving in the right direction again. For the first time in a long time, I felt it was possible to regain the strength, flexibility and mobility that I lost after surgery. Not to mention lose the 40 pounds I put on due to very little, if any activity, during that time.
Since those first classes in January, I haven’t looked back. My strength is steadily improving, flexibility is coming back, weight is slowly coming off and most importantly it’s all being done safely without over stressing my body creating more injuries. A feat I could have never accomplished by myself. Angela and her team have done an excellent job of progressing me through the exercises. I am very grateful for the constant coaching on exercise form (Yep!! It does matter.) And, of course, there is no substitute for good clean eating. The nutritional guidelines have been just excellent.
For me, Inspiration Fitness isn’t a “Gym” it’s a program about being healthy for a lifetime and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to join.
