I have been overweight most of my life. In fact, I’m an expert dieter.
I gained 80lbs over a 3 years period while away at grad school and when I finally found a job in my field I worked as much as I possibly could. Living off no sleep, constant chaos, and of course “healthy” fast food I gained at least 20 more pounds. I wore yoga pants daily, almost always all black, and I never posed in pictures.
Finally, after starting my second year at IFC and really trying to decide whether I would continue to go, I decided it was time for a change. Angela had given me all the tools to succeed but, I was too tired and stressed to really make any changes. It wasn’t until I developed blurred vision, dizziness, and excessive thirst that I realized it was worse than I thought.
As a health care provider I knew this could only mean one thing for me. My blood glucose was too high and I was now diabetic. That’s when I cut my hours, learned to always have better food choices PREPARED AND AVAILABLE and increase my physical activity.
I love my workouts at IFC. The coaches are awesome and very supportive. The workouts challenge me to really push farther than I would ever do on my own.
IFC is not a gym. It offers private and group sessions, nutrition advice, health based seminars, motivation, and for most important for me…ACCOUNTABILITY.
